Vancouver, BC, May 15, 2018—New Mexico Gas Company (NMG) has selected the Copperleaf® Decision Analytics Solution to optimize its investment plans, proactively manage risk, and enhance enterprise-wide decision making. New Mexico Gas Company is a member of the Emera, Inc. family of energy companies. Based in Albuquerque, it is the largest natural gas utility in the state of New Mexico, maintaining 12,000 miles of natural gas pipeline to provide service to more than 525,000 residential, commercial and transportation customers.
New Mexico Gas recognized the need to move toward a total expenditure (TOTEX) model, and establish a more consistent, transparent, and defensible approach to decision making across the organization. NMG selected Copperleaf to help manage its planning, analysis, budgeting, and performance management processes in an integrated and comprehensive manner.
“The selection of Copperleaf is a key step in modernizing our approach to asset investment planning and management. It will provide a consistent, value-based methodology for budget decision analytics and ensure our capital expenditures align with our strategic objectives,” commented Tom Bullard, Vice President of Engineering, Gas Management and Technical Services for New Mexico Gas.
“Copperleaf has helped many organizations develop optimized investment plans over short, medium, and long-term time horizons, and we look forward to supporting New Mexico Gas on its drive to improve its asset investment planning and decision-making processes,” said Judi Hess, Copperleaf CEO. “Our solution and the Copperleaf Value Framework will provide New Mexico Gas with a consistent means to compare and value all investments across gas, fleet, facilities, and IT, to deliver on its strategic objectives.”
