IFS Copperleaf ANZ Community Forum 2025
From 15 to 16 October 2025, the IFS Copperleaf ANZ Community Forum took place at Endeavour Energy’s offices in Parramatta Square, Sydney.
This year’s edition gathered more than 55 participants from across the energy and water sectors, all united by a common goal: to share experiences, strengthen collaboration, and explore how innovation and AI are redefining Asset Investment Planning.
A Pre-Event Visit to Western Sydney Airport’s Transmission Substation
The Forum began a day earlier with an exclusive site visit hosted by Endeavour Energy to the Western Sydney Airport transmission substation, a key project powering one of Australia’s largest infrastructure developments.
Participants gained first-hand insights into how Endeavour Energy is applying advanced planning and sustainability strategies to meet the needs of this fast-growing region, setting the tone for the discussions that followed.
Learning from Global Leaders and Exploring AI Innovation
The Forum opened with a warm welcome from IFS Copperleaf and Endeavour Energy, followed by strategic updates on the company’s roadmap and product direction.
A highlight of this year’s agenda was the international perspective shared by Wen Tu, Sr. Director – Integrated Grid Planning at Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E). He illustrated how integrated grid planning and value-based decision-making at scale can help utilities adapt to a rapidly evolving energy landscape. His insights sparked engaging conversations about how the ANZ community can apply similar principles to drive smarter, more transparent investment decisions.
Building on that vision, the IFS Copperleaf product team presented the AI-native product concept, demonstrating how Artificial Intelligence will empower organisations to plan, prioritise, and optimise capital portfolios with greater precision, speed and confidence.
Sharing Knowledge Across the Community
Customer-led sessions from Wel Networks, Energy Queensland, SA Power Networks, Endeavour Energy, Powerco, Essential Energy, and Powercor highlighted real-world applications of value frameworks, risk monetisation, and advanced analytics.
Interactive roundtables on digital transformation, system integrations, and AI use cases fostered open collaboration and knowledge sharing across the community.
The event also featured the presentation of the IFS Copperleaf Innovation Award 2025 (stay tuned for more details!), as well as a vibrant networking evening that celebrated the community’s achievements and strengthened connections for the year ahead.
Expanding the Community
This year’s Forum reinforced the importance of opening the community to even more customers across the region, not only in Australia and New Zealand, but also beyond. Looking ahead, we aspire to welcome and connect customers from Japan, Asia, the Middle East, and other regions. Each brings unique challenges, ambitions, and success stories that can inspire new ways of thinking. By learning from one another, we can accelerate innovation and unlock the full potential of value-based decision-making across diverse markets and industries.
Expanding this global community isn’t just about growing in numbers, it’s about building a stronger, more connected network of organisations that share a common purpose: making smarter, more sustainable, and more impactful investment decisions for the future.
