A Warm Welcome from Uisce Éireann
Uisce Éireann look forward to welcoming our colleagues from across the Copperleaf UK and Ireland Water Community to Dublin for this important knowledge share event. All water utilities are tasked with delivering for their customers and communities while balancing efficiency, sustainability and compliance goals. It’s a big challenge to deliver with limited funding and ever-expanding requirements. It’s more important than ever to leverage and learn from the experience of others.
Steve Seymour, Head of Asset Management for Uisce Éireann gave his thoughts. “We see this Indaba event as a wonderful opportunity to learn and share our experience with our UK and Ireland colleagues. In particular, we are keen to build peer to peer relationships with our counterparts across the industry to enhance our asset management and investment planning knowledge and practice.”
Niall Tuke, AIP Business Owner stated “Day 2 of the event will cover a broader agenda of knowledge sharing and discussion on a range of topics outside of Copperleaf. One of Uisce Éireann’s core values is We Work Better Together so we are keen to live that Value by learning from and sharing best practice with the best and brightest in the industry.”

Pipes, probability and prioritisation: modelling railway drainage
Network Rail hosts a suite of Asset Investment Planning (AIP) models on Copperleaf to forecast the future of our aging railway infrastructure under different funding scenarios. Safety is paramount on the railway and therefore our models are founded on a common risk-based prioritisation approach. Drainage plays a safety-critical role by stabilising our earthworks and keeping water off the track. As the age and history of our drainage asset base is largely unknown, we model drainage asset condition stochastically and relate failure likelihood directly to poor condition. In this session, I will speak about our current approach to drainage AIP modelling, limitations due to data immaturity and our aspirations for improving asset management in the future.
Speaker: Aoibheann Margalit – Mathematical Modeller (Network Rail)
Maximising Asset Value: Aligning AIP with ISO 55001 for Strategic Excellence

THE SHOW:
Now 35 years performing, the two hour show (with a 15 minute intermission) is a highly entertaining, interactive and memorable concert of authentic Irish music and song and features our outstanding musicians and troupe of Irish dancers. The show is preceded by a three course meal of great Irish home-cooking.
What sets the Merry Ploughboy experience apart from any other show is the fact that this is the only pub and show in Ireland that is fully owned and run by the traditional musicians who perform at the show every night. This guarantees personal attention for your group and a barnstorming performance each and every night of the year, making a night at the Merry Ploughboy the highlight of many people’s visit to Dublin.

Day 2 – Industry Knowledge-Share
• Growth Challenges
• Infrastructure Deficits
• Resilience
• Mega-Projects
• Common Value Framework – Industry Initiative
Sessions Details (WIP):
A common value framework for the water sector
Despite all the progress on best value in the water sector, the challenge of comparability and consistency comes up time and again. To overcome this, we’ve developed a common value framework, or CVF. Working with regulators, companies, and consultants, sponsored by Ofwat’s innovation fund, we’re working to agree a common way to define what best value means for our sector. Aiming at PR29, the vision is that the CVF forms the starting point for all value assessments, including for WRMP, DWMP and WINEP. Decision support tools, such as Copperleaf, are crucial to delivering on this much needed step change in how we deliver for customers, society, and the environment.
