Vancouver, BC, April 14, 2020—Copperleaf® announces the selection of its decision analytics solution by Northern Ireland Electricity Networks (NIE Networks). NIE Networks owns the electricity transmission and distribution networks which transport power to over 860,000 customers in Northern Ireland.
NIE Networks invests around £100 million annually in its network and recognized an opportunity to implement a more structured and automated system to model risk and determine the optimal time to reinvest in its assets. Copperleaf will help NIE Networks improve its Asset Investment Planning and Management (AIPM) processes, enhance long-term planning, and support the development and submission of its business plan in line with the energy regulator Ofgem’s Common Network Asset Indices Methodology (CNAIM).
“We are thrilled to welcome NIE Networks, our first client in Northern Ireland, to our growing community of clients in Europe,” commented Judi Hess, Copperleaf CEO. “Our solution will help NIE Networks create investment strategies that proactively manage risk, while maximizing business value and benefits for its customers.”
“We look forward to working with NIE Networks to enhance its asset investment planning processes,” said Stefan Sadnicki, Copperleaf Managing Director for Europe. “The Copperleaf solution is a whole lifecycle investment solution that will help NIE Networks understand its asset sustainment needs over the long term and support its regulatory submission.”
NIE Networks owns and maintains over 47,000 kilometres of electricity network in Northern Ireland. Its mission is to distribute electricity in a safe, reliable way that is efficient and environmentally sound.
