AI With Accountability

Our view on AI is straightforward. Capital decisions carry consequences measured in decades and defended in front of regulators and boards. AI should make those decisions better informed — never less accountable, and never made without a person.

The Modules That Make Up AI for Asset Investment Planning

Foresight Augment — Answers in the Flow of Work

Natural-language help grounded in Copperleaf documentation and your own process guides and definitions. Users find the right guidance without leaving the application. Read-only: Augment answers from approved documentation and never touches planning data.

Foresight Capture — Guided Investment Creation

A step-by-step guide through creating an investment, with an assistant on each step that explains what is being asked, recommends inputs and validates as you go. New and occasional users contribute without training.

Foresight Analyze — Review Every Business Case to the Same Standard

Reviews each investment against your own criteria — value model alignment, completeness, forecast consistency, dates and assumptions — and recommends improvements before the business case moves forward. Quality stops depending on which reviewer picked it up.

Foresight Automate — Work That Happens Without Being Chased

Background agents respond to events in the system — an investment saved, data updated — re-running reviews and routing work to the right person. Where an action would change something, it goes to a human to approve or reject.

Foresight Compose — Change Your Value Framework the Day Strategy Changes

Describe the model you need in plain language and publish it the same day — validated, versioned and governed. No YAML, no C#, no waiting in a development queue while the plan runs on last quarter’s priorities.

Six Principles That Are Always True of Foresight

AI supports the decision. It does not replace the planner and it does not approve investments. The analysis underneath your plan stays deterministic.

People stay in command. Agents suggest and assist; a person decides and can always override. Nothing is written or approved without someone choosing it.

Transparent and explainable by design. You can see what the agent checked, what it flagged and why it reached the conclusion it did. Built to be questioned.

Foresight runs inside the Copperleaf workflows teams already use. There is no separate tool to adopt, no data to export, and nothing that quietly goes unused.

Your data, your context, your rules. Agents are built to your governance and your value framework, constrained by the permissions and tools you grant them, and fully audited.

Agents are built through the interface with instructions and knowledge you supply. No custom development, which means no development queue between you and a change.

Modeled outcomes for Foresight include 15% incremental productivity, 1% additional portfolio value and 20% improved user satisfaction — gains that build on the value organizations already realize from the core Copperleaf suite.

How IFS Copperleaf Helps You Put AI to Work Safely

Knowledge Curation and Agent Configuration

An agent is only as good as what it knows. Specialists help you gather and curate the documentation, standards and definitions each agent draws on, then configure and tune its instructions.

Defining the Criteria Agents Review Against

We work with your planning and finance teams to turn your quality standards into the pass, warning and fail criteria Foresight Analyze applies — so AI review reflects your judgement, consistently applied.

Governance, Permissions and Rollout Design

Specialists help you set permissions, scope agent tools and design a rollout that starts read-only and widens as confidence grows — with the audit position documented for regulators and internal risk teams.

Adoption Support Across Planning and Operations

Training and change support for the people who will use Foresight day to day, so the capability is adopted across the organization rather than mastered by a handful of specialists.

We wanted to move away from a spreadsheet-based approach and become proactive with our planning rather than reactive. With PR24 coming up, we needed to ensure we could understand risk, prioritize the right projects, and justify investment decisions.

Frequently Asked Questions About Foresight and AI

1. Is our data used to train AI models?

No. The models are commercially available foundation models, and no customer data is fed back into their training. Your context is supplied at the moment of the request so the agent can reference it — it never becomes part of the model.

2. Where does our data actually live?

Each customer gets a dedicated subscription hosted in their own data-residency region. Everything in your Foresight deployment, including conversation history, stays inside that boundary. This is an architectural separation, not a software filter, and no other customer can reach it.

3. Can an agent change or approve an investment by itself?

No. An agent can only perform the actions its assigned tools allow, and it cannot grant itself more. Most customers begin read-only. Where write actions are enabled, the change is routed to a person to approve or reject before anything happens.

4. Can we see why the AI reached its conclusion?

Yes. Every agent action is logged — agent, time, initiating user, inputs, outputs and status. You can trace what was checked, what was flagged and why, which is what makes AI-assisted work defensible in a regulatory or audit setting.

5. Does AI make the optimization less predictable?

No. The optimization engine behind your plan is deterministic — the same inputs produce the same result every time. Foresight improves the quality of what goes into that engine and helps people work with the output. It does not change how the plan is calculated.
