Phil joined Copperleaf as Vice President, Sales and Business Development in 2009, and has been instrumental in expanding Copperleaf’s client base across the globe. In his current role as Managing Director for the Americas, he is responsible for leading sales, marketing, customer experience, and operations in the region. Phil has a passion for helping prospects and clients see how value-based decision making can advance their businesses and loves working with our talented Americas team and network of partners to help each client find the right starting point with Copperleaf.
Phil started his career as an electrical engineer but quickly realized he preferred client engagement, which led him to sales and business development. He has more than 25 years in client-facing roles, the last 20 of which have been in sales and sales leadership.
Prior to Copperleaf, Phil's client base included government, military, commercial wireless infrastructure manufacturers, venture-funded factories in Asia, and a range of both commercial and residential clients in the energy management and automation systems space. He was a partner in a custom electronics design and integration firm and a commercial lighting and control products company, and spent seven years at Spectrum Signal Processing, ultimately attaining the role of Vice President, Sales and Business Development.
Phil earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Phil lives in Coquitlam, BC where he enjoys outdoor adventures in the snow, on the water, and in the mountains.
