Copperleaf Recognized as one of Canada’s Top Small and Medium EmployersBy Victoria Yang
Vancouver, BC, April 25, 2017—Copperleaf is proud to be recognized as one of Canada’s Top Small and Medium Employers for providing one of the nation’s best workplaces. Published in a magazine feature in The Globe and Mail, the national competition celebrates small and medium businesses with exceptional work environments and forward-thinking human resources policies.
On top of competitive benefits and flexible work schedules, Copperleaf goes out of its way to cultivate innovation and collaboration at all levels of the organization. Every voice matters, with employees empowered to “deliver exceptional value” and “provide extraordinary experiences” to customers—and initiate activities known as “Random Acts of Delight” to give back to local communities. Through this competition, Copperleaf was also selected as one of Canada’s Best Employers for Recent Graduates.
“The defining features of employers on this year’s list is their flexibility to adapt quickly to changing conditions and the ease with which they can make improvements,” says Richard Yerema, Managing Editor of the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project at Mediacorp. “Since the competition was founded, we’ve observed that the leading SMEs have steadily expanded their benefits and HR initiatives – they offer job-seekers an attractive employment proposition combined with a dynamic and fun work environment.”
“We are delighted to be named a winner in this year’s competition,” said Judi Hess, CEO of Copperleaf. “Copperleaf cares deeply about our employees and is committed to creating a fulfilling and empowering work environment. About Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers
Now in its fourth year, Canada’s Top Small & Medium Employers is an editorial competition that recognizes the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that offer the nation’s best workplaces and forward-thinking human resources policies. Employers were evaluated by the editors at Canada’s Top 100 Employers using the same criteria as the national competition: (1) Physical Workplace; (2) Work Atmosphere & Social; (3) Health, Financial & Family Benefits; (4) Vacation & Time Off; (5) Employee Communications; (6) Performance Management; (7) Training & Skills Development; and (8) Community Involvement.
Employers are compared to other organizations in their industry to determine which offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs. The annual competition is open to any employer with its head office or principal place of business in Canada. Employers must have less than 500 employees worldwide, including employees at any affiliated companies, and be a commercial, for-profit enterprise.
